Majorca is a hugely popular holiday destination. This is hardly surprising as
it is the largest island in the Balearics with the Mediterranean Sea lapping at
its shores. This world famous destination is so popular with the world's
tourists, especially holiday makers from Britain and Germany that it can be
sometimes hard to truly relax. The buzz of activity is not always a bad thing,
but sometimes it's just nice to enjoy your own space and savour the peace and
quiet.
A good way to do this is to abandon your hotel ambitions and to holiday in
style with a luxury holiday villa. What does a villa have to offer that a hotel
does not? You might ask. There are several things, some of which could change
your holiday vibe totally. If you want something really peaceful you could get a
villa near Arta. Due to its inland position it's off the beaten tourist track a
bit so can be very peaceful. There are several quiet beaches such as Cala Rajada
and Cala Aguilla nearby and 3 golf courses. If you want something nearer to the
beaches you could get a waterfront villa within walking distance of Cala d'Or
beach.
Your luxury holiday villa runs to your schedule. There will be no compulsory
breakfast or other meal times, or any awkwardness if you want to return to your
hotel at 3am. Often the worry of abiding by other rules can feel some what
restrictive, especially if you and your family or group of friends are in high
spirits enjoying your holiday. In a villa you can all have fun without worrying
about annoying someone in the next room or in the lounge if you are in a public
part of your hotel. Food is another advantage in a villa, if you happen to be a
particularly fussy eater, or just have set preferences it is not a bother as you
can just buy the food you prefer rather than follow menus or set meals. Of
course nothing stops you eating out either.
A popular activity when holidaying in a hot location is sunbathing. When I
think of a holiday in the Mediterranean the first thing I think of is relaxing
in the sun working on tanning my "milk bottle" skin in peace. This is not always
achievable in popular destinations just because of the hive of activity around
you. In a villa, if yours has a private pool you can just lounge with the pool
to yourself and your friends or family. If you are with your family, another
bonus is that your kids can play in the pool without you having to worry about
them getting lost. In such relaxing surroundings, there is little to stop you
reading that book or working on that tan in relative peace and tranquillity
compared to the bustle of other holiday accommodation solutions.
